Residenzschloss (Castle Residence), Bad Urach
The Castle Residence is located right in the heart of the historic old town of Bad Urach.
The interior of the Castle Residence, e.g. the late Gothic "Dürnitz" (Main Hall), the "Palmensaal" (Hall of Palms) with the ancestral table of Count Eberhard V of Wuerttemberg, the Renaissance "Goldener Saal" (Golden Hall) and the Baroque "Weißer Saal" (White Hall), are of particular historic interest for the region and the arts.
An exhibition of twenty-two gloriously carved and gold-plated grand sledges from the collection of the Württemberg State Museum in Stuttgart reminds us of the magnificent court of the Württemberg Baroque Duke Carl Eugen (1744-1793).
Visual information and audio guides throughout the building provide information on the history of the region and the house. In the spacious stairway the history of the Schwäbischer Albverein (hiking club for the Swabian Alb) has been documented.
