Haupt- und Landgestüt Marbach (State-owned stud farm)

The internationally renowned Haupt- und Landgestüt Marbach attracts tens of thousands of horse enthusiasts and breeders to the central Swabian Alb every year with its traditional stallion parade. Stallions and mares of the most diverse races are presented over two weekends during September/October. Visitors are impressed by a programme of great horesmanship and coachmanship lasting more than three hours.

The stud farm is always worth a visit, even if you don't go to the stallion parade. Founded at the end of the 16th century, the Marbach stud farm near Dapfen is the oldest and largest of the four Württemberg stud farms, all of which are in the Swabian Alb.

The stud farm is open throughout the year daily from 8am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm.
